Included in the collection are two Talbot-Lagos—a 1938 T120 Roadster (Lot S105) and a 1939 T150-C Coupe (Lot S107)—several Packards, including a 1934 1108 V-12 Sport Phaeton (Lot S125) and a 1934 1104 Super 8 Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton (Lot S125.1), a 1930 Duesenberg Model J Dual Cowl Phaeton (Lot S130.1), a 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Faux Cabriolet (Lot S98), a 1935 Pierce-Arrow Model 1245 Silver Arrow (Lot S93.1), as well as many others from Auburn, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and more.
The Ardell Brown Estate Collection encompasses nearly 140 lots all to be offered at no reserve. The collection includes a lilac 1930 Cord L-29 Cabriolet (Lot S72) with a professional nut-and-bolt restoration performed by one of the best restorers in America, Lon Kruger of Scottsdale, Arizona; a 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible (Lot S71) that is one of 518 GT500KR Convertibles produced and one of just 43 with a Special Yellow exterior; and a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (Lot S74) that is one of 3,950 produced in 1955, to name a few.
Bugatti Veyron at Mecum Las Vegas 2018
A contrast from and complement to the historic consignments from The Academy of Art University Collection and the Ardell Brown Estate Collection is a 2012 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport 16.4 (Lot S96) that sports Chassis No. 45 and was a 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show car.
Bugatti Veyrons have generally struggled to sell during 2018 – many were offered but bidding frequently failed to reach reserves.
